My Refreshing Publishing Portfolio
Here are some of the projects I have worked on so far.
I have had the opportunity to work with Derek on several projects and the first thing that comes across is that he is passionate about language learning; and when you work with him you also realise how professional, detail oriented and meticulous he is to ensure that the final product is perfect. He is extremely knowledgeable in his fields of expertise as well as open to new ideas. |

Non-profit work
Since November 2020, I have been involved with Maidenhead's Big Read, managing their website content and writing a monthly newsletter to help boost interest throughout the year. MBR is a wonderful organisation that encourages school children from all walks of life to take an active interest in reading. Reading is such an important skill for people to have and the MBR committee, of which I am a member, is made up of educationalists who share this passion for reading. We organise a reading festival for schools in Maidenhead every March which coincides with World Book Day.
I have also helped a non-profit organisation called the Japanese Community Volunteers Association (also known as Tonari Gumi) based in Vancouver, Canada. I wrote updated optimised content for their new website and advised on site layout and SEO.

I recently worked with The Adult Learning Hub, an exciting and fast-growing network of learning and development educators created by Jane Erickson. I have provided editorial and copywriting advice on marketing materials but also acted as a critical friend for Jane, providing feedback on launch events and masterclasses.
UX Writing & Digital Content Auditing
I was commissioned by Oneclick Diseño y Software, an EdTech company based in Madrid, Spain, to review and edit the UX text for a new educational platform they have been developing. I also reviewed the templates they use for digital content authoring.
ELT Research
I have, over the past few years, written a number of academic papers on ELT topics which you are welcome to explore on my ELT Research site. I also created lesson materials about homelessness, designed around critical pedagogy and the possibility of challenging the status quo. These lesson materials form part of a paper I published about using critical theory to develop ELT textbook materials.
